If you aren’t already using Firefox (why the hell not?), then go get it now. Seriously. Firefox 3.5 is out now, and it is twice as fast as Firefox 3, according to a SunSpider test on an XP machine (results here).

Not much needs to be said, Firefox is awesome, and just got more awesome.

    Go get it.

mightypatch Mighty Mike has been dropping surprises on us left and right this week… first the release of his XIP/SYS base, then the bad assery that is the Mighty/Silence Kitchen, and now his OEM base! Put it all together, and you’re building your very own customized MightyROM4, with your choice of tweaks and apps!

All in all, I’d say he chose a great way to launch his site, with a fantastic set of tools for any budding chefs out there.

I just saw over at 1800PocketPC that Slide to Unlock 2 v2.0 has been released. S2U2 is one of my favorite PPC apps… it includes an iPhone style slide to unlock feature, volume control, Caller ID (for most devices), and a screensaver function.

This new version sports a brand new user interface, on screen zooming, the ability to change your wallpaper and unlock sound, and much more!

Head on over to the S2U2 site to check it out: http://s2u2.ac-s2.com/

  • Opera Mobile 9.7

Opera Mobile 9.7 beta is now official, and includes Opera’s new “Opera Turbo”. From WMPoweruser:

Opera Mobile 9.7 beta features a mobile version of Opera Turbo. This turbo-charged technology is made possible by:

    • Server-accelerated rendering — Opera Mobile unburdens the mobile phone of its full rendering responsibilities by off-loading this task to Opera servers. This frees device resources, thus improving download rates and overall performance.
    • Compression technology — Opera Turbo uses advanced compression technology to speed up data transfer and to reduce the amount of data that needs to be downloaded by up to 80 percent. This means that despite network shortcomings or in the absence of a powerful device, Opera Turbo enables a fast and rich browsing experience that is even faster than the most advanced 3G phones.

I’m actually pretty excited about this release. So far I can see a noticeable increase in speed when browsing. This beta also includes the Opera Widgets manager, so that you can have one click functionality for your daily services.

Try it out and tell us what you think!

    Download Opera Mobile 9.7 here.

I am happy to bring you our interview with No2Chem… the man behind some of the most groundbreaking programs and discoveries ever made for Windows Mobile devices. No2Chem stays very busy, coding tools for PocketPCs and BlogEngine.net, building ROMs for the HTC Touch Pro, Diamond and Titan, posting very in-depth articles on his site, and responding to impromptu interviews with inquisitive bloggers (thanks!). As always, I’m adding some questions from PPCGeeks members to the interview, but this time, I’m going to sprinkle them throughout. No2Chem was gracious enough to take some time out for us, and I hope everyone enjoys learning a bit more about the man behind the nue.

As you are a Windows Mobile warrior you are busy, either it be with work, school, anything and everything. A major frustration is trying to stay in contact with your friends and family while busy or without access to a computer. Many of you may have heard of Facebook. It is a social networking site that has a feature called Facebook Chat. Facebook Chat is a simple to use browser-based instant messaging client that can be used to, as the name implies, “chat” with friends and family while browsing Facebook.

But to be able to do so while on your Windows Mobile device has never been ultimately successful, until now. An application called fim has been released that solves this issue…
