According to a Microsoft Twitter update, a Bing branded WinMo client will be seen (and I quote) “VERY soon”. Upon hearing this shocking news, a dozen or so fans spontaneously high fived their imaginary friends.
From the always excellent IntoMobile:
Bing Mobile should feature all the cool location-based searches, speech-recognition and maps/directions offered in the Live Search Mobile client, and will expand support to include Windows Mobile (naturally), BlackBerry, Sidekick and BREW-based phones (Verizon). And, for you European types out there, Bing will finally include localized support for the UK, France and Italy.
Head over to IntoMobile to check out some concept shots if you’re interested.

Humor, Interviews
The one and only Cozboogie has been nice enough to take a break from posting on the PPCGeeks forums to answer a few questions from myself and a couple of users. Cozboogie is a Super Moderator (or Super Cozerator if you will) on the PPCGeeks.com forums, and has dedicated himself and his time to the site for nearly 3 years. He is the founder of the Coz Boogie Militia, an avid cyclist, and full fledged cape wearing super hero (on Sundays)… plus he sports a full time job! He spends a bit of time nearly every day making our lives easier, and asks for nothing in return. Let’s all make sure to thank Cozboogie for his service to PPCGeeks next time we are on a thread that he has posted on. (Which is pretty much all of them.)
Without further ado…

I came up with the idea of doing these interviews as a way to profile individual members of the PPCGeeks.com community. I am happy this week to be able to spotlight part of the backbone of PPCGeeks… Mindfrost82. As a very active member and admin of the forums, he is constantly working to make sure that the PPCGeeks family is able to have the best experience possible while visiting the site. From stopping spammers to implementing features suggested by all of us, Mindfrost82 is dedicated to providing a safe, stable and fun environment for us all.

- The University of Missouri adds Apple products (iPhone or iPod Touch) to the list of essential materials for freshman attending journalism classes. Microsoft likely planning to shut down the University of Missouri.
- WinMo developers take notice… Microsoft’s Marketplace for Mobile is now officially open for registration. While you can’t yet submit anything, you can get used to the interface and have your registration completed by the time this money machine goes live (rumors are of a mid July launch). Check out the Microsoft update here!
- Opera Alpha Build 1491 was released a few days ago, and by all accounts it’s a great browser. I just installed it myself earlier this afternoon, and I have no complaints. It’s fast, and has only crashed twice on me in the past 8 hours or so of heavy use. (What do you expect? It’s a frickin’ alpha release.) Try it out: Link 1 Link 2

- Several people emailed me asking if I really think Windows 7 is horrible after yesterday’s post. Short answer, no. What I think is that I downloaded and installed beta software without being full prepared for the possible consequences. Do I blame Microsoft for my mistakes? Well, hell yes. I’m infallible, bitches. Anyway, here is an excellent (as always) Lifehacker guide to upgrading to Windows 7, just in case you want to take the plunge. Here is an upgrade advisor from Microsoft that will tell you if your system is ready for Windows 7.
Have a good day, people. Don’t get hurt out there.

Phew. What a week.
After the well received interview with Juicy last weekend, I decided to go ahead and throw the new Windows 7 release candidate on my second drive so that I could post my review of all the new and exciting wonderfulness that was sure to be present in this exciting Microsoft product.
To my surprise, five minutes after the incredibly easy installation and setup, I was genuinely enjoying myself. The speed, ease of use and personalization options are very impressive. My favorite part of the entire experience came while I was gleefully looking through the Media Player options and importing my rather large music library.

I’m pretty stoked. Juicy has agreed to do a featured interview for thestumblebum.com, and he suggested that I open some of the questions up to the PPCGeeks community. I think that’s a great idea… so I’m going to wait a few days to give you time to submit any questions you may have.
